Hercules' Labor2 - The Lernean Hydra

Here is my second piece of the Hercules' Labors collection, this time it's Hercules' battle with the Hydra. I depicted the moment when he went to defeat the beast by drawing arrows and the hydra emerging from its lair.
 The second task given to Hercules by King Eurystheus was for the hero to stop the terrible serpent with nine heads- the hydra that caused havoc in a swamp near the place Lerna. The hero first drew the hydra out of its lair by shooting arrows at it, but they proved ineffective.  Hercules found this task to be quite difficult to complete since this mythical creature was not easy to defeat: it spit poison and once the hero managed to smash one of the hydra's heads, two replaced it... However, Hercules had his nephew Lolaus by his side on this quest, so he accepted his help once it was needed. Both of them defeated the hydra- Hercules chopped its heads and Lolaus put a torch to the opened flesh, thus burning it and preventing the heads from multiplying. Finally, he dipped his arrows in the hydra's poison from its body and proceeded onto his next quest.
